The Magic Primer

Getting Started

Everything you need to begin, with no special talent assumed. We start with the most freeing idea in magic: a trick is method plus showmanship, and both halves can be learned by anyone willing to practice. These guides lay out the main branches (card, coin, close-up, and mentalism) so you can see where you fit, explain why beginners begin with easy self-working tricks rather than risky sleight of hand, and set a calm, repeatable practice mindset. We also pass along the unwritten rules that protect the craft: practice in private, and never repeat a trick for the same audience.
